​Portfolio Review

The annual YOUNG ART TAPEI – Photo Eye will be held on April 14th through 16th, 2017. This year, the exhibition will be held at the prestigious Sheraton Grande Taipei Hotel, gathers director of The photographers’ Gallery – Brett Rogers OBE from the U.K.; professor of Tokyo University of the Arts and art historian – Ito Toshiharu; director of PHotoEspaña – Alejandro Castellote; National Cultural Award winner and Tainan National University of Arts emeritus professor– Chang, Chao-Tang; founder/director of Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) – Lee, Gwen; chief curator of Yokohama Civic Art Gallery Azamino – Amano Taro; founder and chief Executive of the Shanghai Center of Photography (SCôP) – Liu, Heung-Shing; curator/artist/programme co-ordinator (Postgraduate Diploma in Photography), Hong Kong University SPACE, HK – Chun Wai; National Geographic Taiwan CEO and chief editor – Lee, Yung-Shih; Himeno Kimi – representative director and chief editor of AKAAKA ART PUBLISHING, Inc, Japan, which published numerous Kimura Ihei Photo Award winning photobooks; independent curator and photographer – Seok, Jae-Hyun; Director of Tosei-sha – Takahashi Kunihiro; photographer and director of Place M gallery – Seto Masato; senior photographer Liu, Chen-Hsiang; Taiwanese photographer and National Chengchi University assistant professor – Shen, Chao-Liang, to join the Portfolio Review.

※ What is Portfolio Review?

​

Portfolio review is created for the creators aspire to become professional photographer. The purpose of portfolio review is to open opportunities for participants to intensively meet with influential curators, photographers, and scholars to present their constructive works. In addition to the feedback exchanging on creative works, through this platform, the attendees will be able to look for the opportunities of exhibit and the possibility of their works being collected. To enhance the content of creative works and maintain the quality of event, Portfolio Review will do application and selection procedure. In the end of the review, the reviewers will also select a winner for Photo Eye Best Portfolio Review Award and another for Photo Eye Special Jury Award.

In the past 3 years, we have gathered a considerable amount of domestic people focusing on the field of photographer to participate this event, as well as built up a significant connection successfully between them with Singapore International Photography Festival, Lianzhou Foto in China, Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Japan, Japanese Gallery –PLACE M and CT: National Geographic Magazine…etc.
